Scaling & Polishing
How are teeth cleaned?
Cleaning is done using an Ultrasonic Scaler that works with ultrasonic vibrations to break up tartar and remove it from the surface of the teeth and below the gum line. The device works with a water spray to wash away the removed plaque.
After removing tartar, we polish the teeth with a special paste and a rotating brush. This polishing removes surface stains and gives the teeth a smooth texture that makes it difficult for tartar to accumulate on them again.
The session takes about 30 to 45 minutes and is generally comfortable. In some cases, the patient may feel a slight sensitivity during cleaning if tartar is densely accumulated or under the gums.
Cases that need dental cleaning
Every person needs periodic dental cleaning at least every 6 months. But there are cases that require cleaning more urgently, and they are the ones found in their teeth:
Clear tartar accumulation on the teeth (yellow or brown), bleeding gums when brushing the teeth, unpleasant breath odor, inflammation, redness, or swelling of the gums.
Cleaning is also an essential step before any cosmetic procedure such as whitening or veneers, as well as before starting any treatment. My evaluation.
